🌿 File this under #PlantPower: As nature enthusiasts & advocates for the Environment, we love to see the mass adoption of vegetarian eating and meat alternatives that help significantly reduce the impact of our food consumption on the Earth 🌎 Tofu, lentils, chickpeas, oh my! The options are diverse and delicious.
🍖 Meat-alternatives driven by plant-based proteins like @BeyondMeat, aim to reform meat-eaters by engineering the taste, texture and look of traditional meat categories (beef, chicken, turkey). 🧀 @FieldRoast sausages & foods mimic the familiar taste of home-cooked comfort foods, but made with grains, veggies, legumes & spices (TIP: delish recipes on their site). For those "where-do-i-get-my-protein?" folks, gram-for-gram, lentils actually have more protein than beef (+ plant-based proteins are much easier for your body to process and digest). 🥑 Love starting your day with a smoothie? Engineers are creating drones and soil sensors to grow crops with greater precision and less input, in ways that mimic natural systems and are better for the soil. Farmers are growing leafy greens and berries with 90% less water using drip and microsprinkler systems."
